Three decades of excellence in personalized doctorates
On September 30th, the academic community of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and Surveying celebrated a historic moment: the Commemorative Ceremony for the 30th Anniversary of the Creation of the Personalized Doctoral Programs at FaCENA (UNNE).

This milestone represents three decades of an unwavering commitment to higher education. Thirty years ago, FaCENA took on the challenge of strengthening postgraduate education in the region by creating these individualized programs, which are not only still valid today but continue to grow and consolidate.
Recognition of IMIT's Career and Contribution The ceremony focused on recognizing the career and fundamental contributions of those who made the excellence of these programs possible, with outstanding participation and recognition of members of our institute, IMIT.
Distinction for the First Directors
A moving tribute was paid to the first directors of FaCENA's doctoral programs, who laid the academic foundations for this program.
Among those honored was Dr. Gustavo Aucar, recognized for his role as pioneering director of the Doctorate in Physics and for his fundamental contribution to postgraduate education in the region.
Recognition of the First Graduates
The distinction also went to two pioneering researchers who represented the first graduates of UNNE's doctoral programs. Their theses achieved outstanding quality and subsequently continued to strengthen these lines of research, contributing to the growth and development of IMIT.
Dr. Rodolfo Horacio Romero (PhD in Physics):
Thesis: "Relativistic and QED Effects on Molecular Properties."
Supervised by Dr. Gustavo Aucar (Distinguished Fellow of IMIT).
Defense Date: June 27, 2003.
Dr. Olga Myriam Vasek (PhD in Chemistry):
Thesis: "Indigenous Ferment for the Production of Artisanal Cheese in Corrientes."
Supervised by Dr. Ángel Fusco and Dr. Graciela S. De Giori.
Additional Distinction: His thesis was awarded the prestigious 2005 Dr. Pedro N. Arata Prize from the Argentine Chemical Association, a recognition that celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year.
At IMIT, we proudly celebrate these 30 years of commitment to training high-level researchers and especially congratulate Dr. Gustavo Aucar, Dr. Rodolfo Horacio Romero, and Dr. Olga Myriam Vasek for their invaluable contributions to academic and scientific excellence in the region.
