INSTITUTIONAL SEMINAR
Resolution and analysis of nonlinear optimization problems
The Institute for Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) reports on the successful seminar held on October 1st. The event, entitled "Solving and Analysis of Nonlinear Optimization Problems Using the Nondifferentiable Augmented Lagrangian," featured an excellent presentation by Dr. José Luis Romero, researcher at IMIT-CONICET-UNNE.
The seminar was held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person participation in the FaCENA Graduate Classroom and virtual participation. During his presentation, Dr. Romero, an IMIT member, presented a new way of using the non-differentiable augmented Lagrangian to solve nonlinear optimization problems. The talk delved into the theoretical properties of this technique, presenting both exact and inexact algorithms and a detailed analysis of their convergence.
In addition, Dr. Romero shared a valuable comparison of the numerical results of his approach with the ALGENCAN software, demonstrating the robustness and efficiency of the proposed method.
We thank Dr. José Luis Romero for his outstanding contribution and all attendees for their participation and interest. This event reaffirms IMIT's commitment to the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of cutting-edge research.
