Celebrating the International Year of Quantum Sciences and Technologies

The IMIT Institute joins the celebration of the International Year of Quantum Sciences and Technologies: A space to explore the future of technology.

Dr. Gustavo Aucar reflects for the audience of La Radio de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste on the impact of quantum physics on our society and the opportunities it presents for innovation.

The Institute for Modelling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) joins the celebration of the International Year of Quantum Sciences and Technologies, a global initiative that seeks to highlight the importance of quantum mechanics in the development of new technologies and its impact on our society.

During this year, IMIT researchers and experts will participate in various activities and share their knowledge about the advances in this field and the future perspectives it offers. Through talks, workshops and interviews, topics such as quantum computing, quantum cryptography, quantum sensors and applications of quantum mechanics in areas such as energy and materials will be addressed.
IMIT will open these activities with two outstanding seminars. The first, by Dr. Sergio Gómez, entitled “Quantum control of individual atoms on surfaces using electrical pulses”, will be held on April 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second seminar, by Dr. Rodolfo Romero, will be held on Friday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both speakers are CONICET researchers and UNNE teachers. These seminars are free of charge and will be held in person and online. For more information, please visit our Instagram networks: IMIT.CONICET.UNNE or email imit.conicet@gmail.com

IMIT recognizes the fundamental role of quantum sciences in the technological transformation we are experiencing and its potential to solve global challenges. Therefore, it joins this celebration with the aim of promoting the dissemination and debate on this discipline, as well as fostering collaboration between researchers and productive sectors.

"Quantum mechanics is one of the most important scientific revolutions of the 20th century, and its applications are rapidly transforming our reality," says Dr. Gustavo Aucar (CONICET researcher and Professor of Physics at UNNE). "At IMIT, we are committed to exploring the opportunities that this discipline offers us and its application in the creation of innovative solutions for the future, as well as in scientific dissemination to awaken vocations in the youngest."

IMIT invites the entire community to participate in the activities scheduled for this year and to join in the reflection on the impact of quantum sciences on our society.
