IMIT shines at REHE 2024 international conference with standout presentations.

The Institute for Modelling and Innovation in Technology (IMIT) had a prominent participation at the 14th International Conference on Relativistic Effects in Chemistry and Physics of Heavy Elements (REHE 2024), held from 7 to 11 October 2024 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. IMIT researchers presented three papers exploring the frontiers of theoretical physics and relativistic quantum chemistry.

On October 15, Dr. Agustín Aucar, CONICET Adjunct Researcher at the Institute for Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT), gave a lecture as a guest member at the ISTCP 2024 International Congress, entitled "Towards a relativistic relationship between parity-conserving and parity-violating NMR shielding and nuclear spin-rotation tensors". This prestigious Triennial Congress took place in the city of Qingdao, People's Republic of China.

Soil moisture estimation through satellite data assimilation

On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the IMIT Institute offered a new institutional seminar called "Estimation of soil moisture through satellite data assimilation", which explored the application of the Ensemble Kalman Filter to combine data from predictive models with satellite observations and estimate soil moisture. The seminar was offered by Lic. Fabricio Matías Obregón, who is a CONICET doctoral fellow at the same institute. The activity was developed in the Graduate Classroom of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and Surveying of UNNE in hybrid mode.

On June 5, 2024, the Seminar entitled “Geology of the Province of Corrientes and its Relation to the Paraná River” was held by Dr. Oscar Orfeo. The presentation was developed in a hybrid format, in the Graduate Classroom of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and Surveying, Roca Campus of the UNNE.

The school will bring together world-renowned scientists for an introduction to group theoretical methods and computational tools needed to describe phase transitions and their symmetry-mode analysis, comparison between crystal structures, magnetic symmetry and its applications in describing magnetic structures, etc. In the context of new frontiers of materials science research, special topics such as chirality in solid state physics, continuum symmetry measurements, chirality in magnetism, chiral phonons, chirality and relativity will be discussed.
