Closing Ceremony - International Year of Quantum Science and Technology

Last Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) held a closing ceremony for a cycle that has left a significant mark on our scientific and academic community. The ceremony, held in the FaCENA UNNE Postgraduate Classroom, provided an opportunity to celebrate the results of a year of intensive learning and collaboration.

2026 - New Bachelor of Science in Physics

The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) congratulates Javier Alejandro Arapayu on the completion and defense of his Final Graduation Project for the Bachelor of Science in Physics at UNNE. His research focused on the theoretical and numerical study of an optomechanical device capable of harnessing ambient thermal radiation to produce microscopic motion.

New Physics Graduates 2026

From IMIT, we extend our sincerest congratulations to Juan Cruz Vergara on this important academic achievement and wish him a future full of success in his professional career. In his proposal, he successfully demonstrated the feasibility of producing unconventional energy transmission lines in antennas and circuits.

IMIT renews international cooperation with a research stay in Chile

Dr. Lucy A. Valdez, a researcher at IMIT-UNNE, conducted a research visit to the University of Santiago, Chile (USACH) between November 3 and 14, 2025. This activity was part of her postdoctoral research project entitled "Porous Alumina-Based Nanomaterials of Interest in Disruptive Optical Devices."

Specialized course at Andrés Bello University in Chile

Within the framework of the XIII Workshop on Computational Chemistry and Molecular Spectroscopy (WCCMS), Dr. Gustavo Aucar successfully conducted the Pre-congress School on "Fundamentals of Relativistic Quantum Mechanics" this past November.

Understanding the Mystery of Quantum Mechanics

The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT, CONICET-UNNE) shares fundamental reflections from Dr. Juan G. Roederer, former professor at the University of Buenos Aires, on how to approach and understand Quantum Mechanics (QM), a field whose relevance has grown exponentially thanks to the promise of quantum computing. Roederer's article, titled "How to Get Used to the Quantum World and Celebrate Differences," proposes that the apparent "strangeness" and supposed paradoxes of QM can dissipate if one becomes "accustomed" to three key facts of nature.

Quantum state control for future computing

A team of scientists from the Institute for Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) (CONICET – UNNE) and the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and Surveying (FaCENA) of UNNE has achieved a significant milestone in quantum physics by proposing and demonstrating new strategies for controlling quantum states in individual atoms.

Resolution and analysis of nonlinear optimization problems

The Institute for Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) reports on the successful seminar held on October 1st. The event, entitled "Solving and Analysis of Nonlinear Optimization Problems Using the Nondifferentiable Augmented Lagrangian," featured an excellent presentation by Dr. José Luis Romero, researcher at IMIT-CONICET-UNNE.

Three decades of excellence in personalized doctorates

On September 30th, the academic community of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and Surveying celebrated a historic moment: the Commemorative Ceremony for the 30th Anniversary of the Creation of the Personalized Doctoral Programs at FaCENA (UNNE).
