Seminar: Quantum Spin Control

The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT, CONICET-UNNE) held another edition of its Institutional Seminar series with a presentation by Dr. Alejandro Ferrón, titled "Quantum Spin Control on Surfaces through Quantum Interference." The event brought together professors, researchers, and students both in person at the FaCENA Postgraduate Classroom and virtually via Google Meet.

Obtaining bioplastics from rice husks

The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) held another scientific update session. On this occasion, Dr. Andrea Natalia Pila, Principal Researcher at CONICET in IMIT (QUIMOBI) and professor at FaCENA, presented a talk entitled "From Waste to Product: Valorization of Rice Husk Hydrolysate through Microbial Fermentation for the Production of Bioplastics."

Scientific ties with Switzerland and Germany in Quantum Technologies

Dr. Alejandro Ferrón, a researcher at the Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT-CONICET-UNNE) and professor at FaCENA-UNNE, completed a distinguished academic stay at prestigious scientific centers in Switzerland and Germany. The visit was part of an international project selected and funded by a cooperation program promoted by the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), aimed at strengthening scientific collaboration between Swiss and Latin American institutions.

Closing Ceremony - International Year of Quantum Science and Technology

Last Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) held a closing ceremony for a cycle that has left a significant mark on our scientific and academic community. The ceremony, held in the FaCENA UNNE Postgraduate Classroom, provided an opportunity to celebrate the results of a year of intensive learning and collaboration.

2026 - New Bachelor of Science in Physics

The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) congratulates Javier Alejandro Arapayu on the completion and defense of his Final Graduation Project for the Bachelor of Science in Physics at UNNE. His research focused on the theoretical and numerical study of an optomechanical device capable of harnessing ambient thermal radiation to produce microscopic motion.

New Physics Graduates 2026

From IMIT, we extend our sincerest congratulations to Juan Cruz Vergara on this important academic achievement and wish him a future full of success in his professional career. In his proposal, he successfully demonstrated the feasibility of producing unconventional energy transmission lines in antennas and circuits.

IMIT renews international cooperation with a research stay in Chile

Dr. Lucy A. Valdez, a researcher at IMIT-UNNE, conducted a research visit to the University of Santiago, Chile (USACH) between November 3 and 14, 2025. This activity was part of her postdoctoral research project entitled "Porous Alumina-Based Nanomaterials of Interest in Disruptive Optical Devices."

Specialized course at Andrés Bello University in Chile

Within the framework of the XIII Workshop on Computational Chemistry and Molecular Spectroscopy (WCCMS), Dr. Gustavo Aucar successfully conducted the Pre-congress School on "Fundamentals of Relativistic Quantum Mechanics" this past November.
