Update session on the status of the HPC Cluster at IMIT
Last Wednesday, April 22nd, the Institutional Seminar entitled "Situation of the HPC Cluster: Reality and New Challenges" was held. The presentation was given by Leopoldo José Rios, MSc, Principal CPA of CONICET

The activity, held virtually, saw significant participation from students, researchers, and faculty of the National University of the Northeast (UNNE), demonstrating the regional scientific community's interest in supercomputing tools.
During the meeting, key aspects for the development of complex research were explored in depth, such as the current status of the IMIT cluster's computing and storage system, software versions and job execution methods, as well as usage statistics and training for new users. Details were also provided regarding the incorporation of new equipment and its integration into the existing system.
As Mr. Rios emphasized, in the era of Big Data and complex modeling, a thorough understanding of these tools is fundamental to enhancing the quality and scope of scientific research. A challenge for the region is to raise awareness of this computing system and how to value it through training programs aimed at secondary and tertiary institutions, as well as undergraduate and graduate programs.
