2026 - New Bachelor of Science in Physics
The Institute of Modeling and Technological Innovation (IMIT) congratulates Javier Alejandro Arapayu on the completion and defense of his Final Graduation Project for the Bachelor of Science in Physics at UNNE. His research focused on the theoretical and numerical study of an optomechanical device capable of harnessing ambient thermal radiation to produce microscopic motion.

The work, led by Dr. Lucas Fernández Alcázar and advised by Dr. Alba Ramos, analyzed a system consisting of an optical cavity with a movable mirror, showing that ambient temperature fluctuations, far from acting merely as a source of disorder, can become the mechanism that drives the motor's operation; it was presented on March 13, 2026.
The results provide new insights into alternative energy sources for very small-scale autonomous devices, with potential applications for sensors, Internet of Things systems, and future uses in biological and technological environments.
From IMIT, we extend our sincerest congratulations to Javier on this important academic achievement and wish him a future full of success in his professional career.
